Katie Dexter

I like to build things and explore nature.

During the day I work in software engineering, in my free time I like long meandering walks, and side projects that don't need to go anywhere. Most days I'm doing something on a computer; some days I'm outside looking for lichen or birds instead.

Work

Baltimore Bird Watch
A site for aggregating bird sightings and migrations around Baltimore.
The Baltimore Trail
A retro style Baltimore flavored Oregon Trail game.

Outside of work

Birding: On my never ending quest to see an owl in the wild, in 2026
Reading: Currently reading: W-3, A Memoir by Bette Howland
Photos: A loose collection of photos from walks, trips, and nothing in particular.
Writing: Notes and half finished essays that occasionally become real posts.
